Closer to Home Community Services facilitates growth and belonging in communities of meaningful relationships. Our integrity is grounded in evidence-based practice authentically informed by, and connected to, diverse cultural wisdom. We journey with children and families to uncover strength, hope and healing, creating new possibilities for a brighter future.

Each year, Closer to Home provides gift cards to over 500 vulnerable families in Calgary so that they can purchase food, basic necessities and gifts during the holiday season. You can make the season brighter for a vulnerable family in our city. the last day to make a donation is on Dec. 15, 2022

These families in need, who then learn about and can benefit from our services in the future.

Already we are seeing increased need in our city due to the escalating cost of living and the lasting impression of the pandemic. We are expecting more families reaching out to us for support this year, and we could also see a decrease in funds raised as the current environment affects everyone, including donors. Your donation today will close this gap, helping families this holiday season and beyond.
